We all know how much of a difference a trip to the Hairdressers/Barbers can make to our day, but for people who are homeless this service is not always available. A Barber from Swansea is making a conscious effort to change this for the better by joining forces with ‘Haircuts for the Homeless’. Cameron Sansom, who owns Barber Inc of Bryn Y Mor road Swansea, donates his time once a month to provide free haircuts for the homeless.
Mr Sansom’s motivation for the collaboration was that he “noticed that there wasn’t an event like this in Swansea, so I got in touch with Haircuts4Homeless to see if we could arrange one.”
“I just wanted to do it because everyone feels fresh after a hair cut and the homeless need it. Hopefully it will give them a bit of a pick up.”
Haircuts4Homeless, is a movement inspired by the actions of Mark Bustos in New York City, to encourage skilled hairdressers to give their time free of charge to offer haircuts to homeless people, an organisation Mr.Sansom was happy to collaborate with.
Due to Mr. Sansom’s hard work and commitment, the Swansea district project has proven incredibly successful and Mr.Sansom is now looking to provide this
service in the Neath Port Talbot area.
