International Women’s Day 2018
International Women’s day was founded over 100 years ago in 1908 in the state of New York, when 15,000 women took to the streets to campaign for their rights as women and equals within society.
Every year on this date, since the historic march, women all over the world have joined hands in order to support, inspire and motivate each other. There are many incredible and hard working women around the globe; each and every one of them should be afforded the same opportunities and equal rights as others.
There has been progression in regard to women’s rights and equalities over the decades. However, much remains to be done. It is important that we take the time on this day, to stop and reflect on the women in our lives and in our communities, those who inspire, teach, love, promote fairness and equality.
To celebrate this day, there are events and celebrations taking place within our local community as well as globally. Please click here for more information.
