Tiddlywinks is a well established childcare social enterprise that cares for up to 83 children
aged from 6 weeks to 14years of age within its main Centre and overflow Out of School
facility within the village of Ystalyfera in the Upper Swansea Valley.
Tiddlywinks provides a bilingual service with the emphasis on the Welsh language and
encompasses full and sessional care, breakfast club, wrap around care, after school care
and holiday play care as well as a Flying Start playgroup. Open Access Play sessions and
Cylchoedd Ti a Fi are also facilitated in various locations within the community.
This position has arisen due to the imminent retirement of the current manager. The current
staff team include practitioners qualified at level 5, 3 and 2 in early years, childcare and play
work as well as degree level in associated subjects, and who are dedicated and committed
on delivering an outstanding service to children and families in the area.
Tiddlywinks is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced practitioner to
take on the challenging role of Centre Manager to oversee the day to day running of
Tiddlywinks and provide a safe and stimulating environment. This will involve the
management of staff, communicating with parents, ensuring the health and safety and the
well-being of both staff and children, conducting risk assessments and monitoring and
adapting policies, ensuring that safeguarding and child protection remains top priorities and
is enforced at all times. You will facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies, implementing any
recommendations, ensure accurate reporting in respect of budgets, occupancy, quality and
standards and liaise with and provide regular updates to the management committee. You
will maintain accurate records and accounts and promote and represent Tiddlywinks to
parents, potential customers, the community and relevant partners.
This is a full time permanent role to start as soon as possible, although we are happy to wait
for the right person.
To be considered for this post you will need to hold a level5 CCLD qualification (or
equivalent) and ideally have at least 2 years management experience. You will be looking to
continue your professional and personal development within the role and happy to
undertake further training as necessary. The ability to speak Welsh is essential.

Tiddlywinks is offering an attractive salary between £24K and £29K, dependent on
qualifications and experience.
