The Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015 places a duty on Local Authorities to jointly prepare a Strategy for their area with the Local Health Board. The Act is a landmark piece of legislation, breaking new ground as the first law of its kind in the UK.
The Act addresses Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence perpetrated against all people in Wales, irrespective of gender or sexual orientation. As a result, NPTCBC has developed a strategy that is currently out for Consultation until 7th June. To complete the consultation visit
Based on national averages we know that 18,700 of our residents could be experiencing some form of Domestic Abuse. It is vital that we are able to work effectively to prevent the violence from happening, to protect victims and their families and to provide the best possible support to those affected.
We would like to encourage as many people as possible to complete the consultation questionnaire, as this is the opportunity to shape the final strategy and the work we will undertake to tackle Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence over the next 3 years.”
